Caught a nice and sleek QT phone book demo (with kinetic scrolling) on N900 at Mobile World Congress 2010. UI was fast and responsive. Although I can say it’s not in the performance level of iPhone, considering current UI, it’s clearly superior.

QT is getting more and more interesting, especially QML looks promising. What do you think, will Nokia hit the spot with QT? Join the discussion on N900 Forum.

Almost after a month, here is the first beta of JoikuSpot for N900. With JoikuSpot, you can turn your N900 into a wireless hotspot within seconds.

joikuspot beta n900

Current version is beta and for now free. Once it’s out of beta, it wouldn’t be a big surprise that it will be for a fee. Let’s hope there also will be a light version for free.

It’s still beta, therefore some problems might be expected. In my first tests, it slowed down the phone very much, that I had to install. Developers suggest to restart the phone until the problem is solved :)

SPECIAL NOTE: THIS IS A BETA-LEVEL SOFTWARE RELEASE AND MAY CONTAIN BUGS OR INCOMPATIBILITIES. THIS EDITION IS NOT FULLY TESTED AGAINST ALL DEVICE COMBINATIONS, AND MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AT ALL TIMES OR WITH ALL DEVICES. PLEASE REPORT SUCH FINDINGS OF MAL-FUNCTIONING TO JOIKUSOFT AT INFO(AT)JOIKUSOFT.COM. JOIKUSOFT APPRECIATES ALL THE BETA-USER FEEDBACK!

For installation details and futher discussions, join JoikuSpot beta for N900 topic on N900 Forums.

Andrew demonstrates new Evernote Nokia N900 sharing plug-in which is available on Ovi Store for free

Evernote makes it easy to remember things big and small from your life using your Nokia N900. Chances are, if you can see it or think of it, Evernote can help you remember it. Type a text note. Clip a web page. Snap a photo. Grab a screenshot. Evernote will keep it all safe. Evernote is fully integrated into the N900 allowing you to take notes and snapshots and then easily send them into Evernote. Do this by using the ‘Share via Service’ option found in most applications.
